Lavender Psychiatry and Ember Health Advance a More Connected Model for Specialized Mental Health Care

The four-year partnership integrates ongoing psychiatric care with specialized IV ketamine treatment, creating a more efficient and coordinated care pathway for patients with depression.
NEW YORK, Sept. 30, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Lavender Psychiatry, the largest nurse-led psychiatry and therapy practice in the United States, and Ember Health, a leading provider of IV ketamine treatment for depression, are highlighting four years of partnership that brings together Lavender’s ongoing psychiatric care and Ember’s specialized expertise in interventional psychiatry. The collaboration is designed to address an ongoing challenge in mental health care: how patients can access advanced treatment options while remaining supported by the clinicians managing their broader psychiatric care.
Over the course of their partnership, more than 52 Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners from Lavender have worked with Ember’s clinical team to support patients receiving care across the two organizations. The model enables Ember to deliver specialized IV ketamine treatment within a coordinated care framework, while Lavender provides ongoing psychiatric support around diagnosis, medications, and broader treatment plan.
Rather than handing a patient from one organization to another, Ember and Lavender operate through a comprehensive co-care model that serves to broaden access and increase speed to specialized care. Lavender providers can identify and refer appropriate candidates to Ember, or patients can access Ember directly and be connected to Lavender for ongoing psychiatric care. With the patient’s consent, providers at both organizations may share relevant clinical history to support collaboration and improved clinical care.
This approach is particularly relevant for people living with treatment resistant depression who may have already navigated multiple medications, providers, or treatment approaches before considering interventional psychiatry like IV ketamine therapy. The partnership is designed to remove barriers from accessing specialized treatment, and reduce the burden on the patient to coordinate care.
“The relationship between Lavender and Ember Health has grown substantially since it began in 2022,” says Dr Nico Grundmann, Co-Founder of Ember. “Over four years, Lavender has become a preferred psychiatric care partner for Ember Health, while Ember has become Lavender’s trusted IV ketamine treatment partner for eligible patients. With multiple bidirectional referrals across New York City, and our 84% overall positive treatment response rate for depression, the collaboration points to a model with proven impact on patient access and outcomes.”
For Lavender, the partnership reflects a broader vision for psychiatric care: patients should be able to access additional expertise and treatment modalities when their needs change without sacrificing the consistency of an ongoing clinical relationship.
“Mental health care shouldn’t become more fragmented as a patient’s needs become more complex,” says Pritma Dhillon-Chattha, Co-Founder of Lavender. “Our partnership with Ember shows what it can look like when specialized treatment is integrated into ongoing psychiatric care. Rather than asking patients to navigate different parts of the system alone, we can remain involved in their broader care while working alongside specialists who bring expertise in a particular treatment.“
For Ember, the partnership allows its team to focus on treatment while working alongside the clinicians who understand the patient’s broader psychiatric history and ongoing needs.
The partnership has also extended beyond clinical care. In May 2026, Lavender and Ember Health co-hosted a Mental Health Awareness Soirée in New York City, bringing together clinicians, partners, and members of the local psychiatric care community to advance conversation around more collaborative models of mental health care. The event reflected the organizations’ shared commitment to strengthening connections across the NYC mental health ecosystem.
As interventional psychiatry and specialized mental health care offerings continue to expand, Lavender and Ember’s partnership is a leading example of how effective care coordination can improve patient experiences and outcomes.
