LOS ANGELES, CA, UNITED STATES, October 8, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — ▶ Title: 2026 K-Pop Academy in LA
▶ Hosted/Organized by: Korean Cultural Center Los Angeles (KCCLA) & King Sejong Institute Center, U.S.A.
▶ Dates / Venues: October 14 (Wed) – October 16 (Fri), 2026 / LA Korean Education Center, Korean Cultural Center Los Angeles
The Korean Cultural Center Los Angeles (KCCLA) will present the “2026 K-POP Academy in LA” from October 14 to 16 in partnership with the King Sejong Institute Center, U.S.A.
Part of the 2026 Sejong Culture Academy, the program will give K-pop fans in the Los Angeles area the chance to receive performance training directly from a professional artist and take the stage in a final showcase.
The workshops will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. on October 14 and 15 at the Korean Education Center in Los Angeles. Classes will be divided into Beginner and Advanced levels based on participants’ experience. Through step-by-step instruction, participants will learn fundamental K-pop choreography, musical interpretation, movement details, dynamics, and stage expression, along with practical techniques used in live performances.
Beginner Class participants will be admitted on a first-come, first-served basis, while Advanced Class participants will be selected based on submitted dance videos. Students currently enrolled in Korean language courses at a King Sejong Institute will receive priority consideration. Applicants must have been born on or before December 31, 2012, and must be available to participate in the full program from October 14 through 16.
KAHI, a singer, performer, and former member of the K-pop group After School, will lead the academy and previously served as a dance trainer on Mnet’s “Produce 101.” Before debuting as a singer, KAHI built extensive stage experience as a professional dancer. In 2009, she debuted as an original member and leader of After School, earning recognition for her powerful dance skills and charismatic stage presence.
Drawing on her extensive performance and training experience, KAHI will guide participants beyond simply learning choreography. Her instruction will focus on helping dancers understand the music’s flow and emotion and express it through their own energy and individual style.
The program will conclude with a final showcase at the Korean Cultural Center Los Angeles on October 16. Participants will perform the K-pop choreography they learned and practiced during the two-day workshop, experiencing the full process of developing and presenting a completed stage performance.
K-pop has continued to expand beyond music listening into a participatory culture shaped by cover dance, dance workshops and social media content created by fans. Through this academy, KCCLA aims to provide local K-pop fans with professional training and performance opportunities while deepening their interest in and connection to Korean culture through the Sejong Culture Academy program.
“This K-POP Academy offers participants a special opportunity to learn firsthand from a professional artist with extensive industry experience and to work together toward a completed stage performance,” said KCCLA Director Haedon Lee. “We hope the program will encourage participants to connect through K-pop and experience Korean culture in a more personal and meaningful way.”
Participation in the “2026 K-POP Academy in LA” is free, and advance registration is required. Selected participants will be notified individually by email.
