Duluth Superior, MN, October 9, 2026 — The Boys and Girls Club of Bois Forte has a new playground facility located at the Vermilion Wellness Center. The project represents a collaborative effort aimed at enhancing recreational opportunities for the community’s youth.
The initiative was a partnership between the Boys and Girls Club of Bois Forte, the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community, and KABOOM!, a national non-profit dedicated to ensuring all children have a place to play.
A notable aspect of the playground’s development was the inclusion of design input from the children who will be using the facility. This approach allowed for the creation of a space that reflects the interests and preferences of its young users.
The donation and construction of the playground contribute to the amenities available at the Vermilion Wellness Center, providing a dedicated outdoor space for play and physical activity for the members of the Boys and Girls Club of Bois Forte.
